Job-Readiness Workshop For Persons Who Are Currently On Parole
Research indicates that felons who get and keep a job for one year after release seldom return to prison!
Our Job Readiness Workshops address the special needs of persons with criminal convictions who desire to get and keep a job. The setting provides information and discussion on the following topics:
➢ Why it is difficult for persons with criminal convictions to get a job.
➢ Why it is important to obtain a copy of your criminal record before you seek employment.
➢ What questions potential employers can and cannot ask you.
➢ How to handle gaps in employment when job seeking.
➢ How to answer tough questions about criminal convictions on job applications and during job interviews.
Successful participants will take part in a graduation ceremony where they will receive a certificate of completion and supportive services to be used for your job search.
