GET READY FOR THE FUN – THE 2009 GAMES ARE COMING!
June 13, 14, 20, 21

The mission of the L.A. Watts Summer Games is to build bridges of understanding among high school youth. The Games strive to promote positive interaction, respect and achievement through spirited competition in athletics.

The L.A. Watts Summer Games is held during the second and third weekends in June. The Games were started in 1968 as a response to the 1965 Watts Riots and consists of 17 boys and girls athletic events.

Opening Ceremonies:

LA Southwest College Football Stadium
Saturday, June 13th @ 8am

Second District Contains Most Of L.A.'s Youngest Neighborhoods

The L.A. Times’ Mapping Project “found that L.A. neighborhoods with the lowest median ages tend to be in working-class area of South L.A. In fact, 9 of the top 10 youngest neighborhoods listed below are in the Second Supervisorial District:
