The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Team welcomes your participation at the Station Area Planning Workshops/Project Update Meetings. Over the past few months, we have held several Station Area Planning Workshops. During the next series of community workshops, we will provide a project update, discuss input received from past workshops, and present new information on station alternatives, station area planning, streetscape, and landscape design concepts. We will also provide an update on the maintenance facility site evaluation.

Job-Readiness Workshop For Persons Who Are Currently On Parole

Research indicates that felons who get and keep a job for one year after release seldom return to prison!

Our Job Readiness Workshops address the special needs of persons with criminal convictions who desire to get and keep a job. The setting provides information and discussion on the following topics:

➢ Why it is difficult for persons with criminal convictions to get a job.
➢ Why it is important to obtain a copy of your criminal record before you seek employment.
➢ What questions potential employers can and cannot ask you.
➢ How to handle gaps in employment when job seeking.
➢ How to answer tough questions about criminal convictions on job applications and during job interviews.

Successful participants will take part in a graduation ceremony where they will receive a certificate of completion and supportive services to be used for your job search.

Eligibility
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Must currently be on parole with an assigned agent
• Must demonstrate a desire to become employed

GET UTILITIES PAID This Friday!

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a once a year utility bill assistance program for low income households to help offset the cost of heating or cooling their homes. After eligibility determination, a credit is applied to their account. The current benefit amount ranges from $178.00 to $297.00 a year depending on the household size and household income.
