The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a once a year utility bill assistance program for low income households to help offset the cost of heating or cooling their homes. After eligibility determination, a credit is applied to their account. The current benefit amount ranges from $178.00 to $297.00 a year depending on the household size and household income.

•18 – 24 years of age
•At least 150 high school credits completed
•Resident of the city of Hawthorne, Lawndale, Gardena or Inglewood
•Able to attend training Mon – Sat, January 4 until March 26, 2010
•Meet income and “legal right to work” guidelines
