Supervisor Ridley-Thomas Statement on LAPD Chief William Bratton's Resignation Announcement

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas: “When Chief Bratton arrived in Los Angeles seven years ago, I was a member of the Los Angeles City Council. He assumed command of a police department in need of reform and restoration of a badly tarnished image. His common sense, honest and fair approach to leadership, has succeeded in reducing crime, while improving community relations. He should be credited with elevating the department to the top ranks among law enforcement agencies in the country.”
