Residents of South Los Angeles and beyond will celebrate Friday as Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, joined by hospital representatives, local officials and community leaders, inaugurate the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital.
Hundreds are expected to attend the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 131-bed hospital that will provide general acute care, emergency services, primary care, and labor and delivery services.
The hospital is the centerpiece of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Campus, which also features the Martin Luther King, Jr. Outpatient Center, Center for Public Health, Mental Health Urgent Care Center. Soon, it will also include a Recuperative Care Center, Autism Center and community garden.
