Kick off summer by channeling your inner artist and get ready to move. Beginning at 6 p.m., June 6 and every subsequent Wednesday for eight weeks through August 1 attendees will be able to sing, dance, and make music with professional Los Angeles based artists at the Ford Jazzed and Motivated (J.A.M.) Sessions at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Ambulatory Care Center in Willowbrook.
Participants will learn new dances, bang their hands on drums, play musical instruments, and let the rhythmic sounds of Hip-Hop, Bollywood, Samoan dance, and other genres set their feet moving.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Ambulatory Care Center is just one of five locations included in this summer’s J.A.M. sessions. Sessions also will be held at the East Los Angeles Civic Center, Recreation Park in San Fernando, Mayberry Park in Whittier, and Downtown Newhall Arts District.
For the past four years, the Ford Theater Foundation has presented J.A.M. sessions with the goal of creating positive multi-cultural experiences through active participation in the arts.
