It Is Not Too Late To Quit Smoking!

The L.A. Quits program works. Note the following email from a constituent:

“Dear Supervisor Ridley-Thomas,

I would like to personally thank you for the nicotine patches. It has been 2 weeks now and I don’t even have an urge. Thanks for helping to save my life after 30 years of smoking.”

IT IS NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU TO QUIT!

To date, we have distributed only 25% of our 30,000 two-week stop-smoking starter kit supply. And now we are holding the following outreach events in the community to make it easy to get started on quitting!

Harbor Subdivision Transit Corridor Community Meetings

You are invited to attend a Harbor Subdivision Transit Corridor Alternatives Analysis (AA) project update meeting. In September 2008, Metro held four Early Scoping meetings to obtain community input on the alternatives and environmental issues to be studied in the AA. Based on feedback received at those meetings and more detailed technical analysis, a set of modal and routing alternatives has been developed for further study.

Please join us to receive a status update and a schedule for future project milestones for the Harbor Subdivision Transit Corridor.

VIDEO: Rabbi Zoe Klein Led Invocation At Board Meeting

The invocation at the L.A. County Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday was led by Rabbi Zoe Klein of Temple Isaiah in Los Angeles. Rabbi Klein has served Temple Isaiah for over eight years and has been Senior Rabbi since July 2007.
