While hundreds of supporters looked on, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas urged the Metro Board to locate a train station in historic Leimert Park Village. He also called for the Board to run the future light rail line underground through Park Mesa Heights

Backing a substitute motion by Director Richard Katz, the Board gives lukewarm support to a  Leimert Park Village station. Supervisor Ridley-Thomas objects, calling for a strong affirmative stand, not a “tentative” gesture.
