The Crenshaw/South Bay Transit Corridor

Potential BRT and LRT Alignment Options

At its December board meeting the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be voting on the Crenshaw/South Bay Transit Corridor. The Metro board will decide whether to implement Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or Light Rail Transit (LRT) along the corridor. This $1.7 billion public works investment project will benefit the Second Supervisorial District in three major areas: Congestion Relief, Air Quality and Economic Development. Residents of the corridor will have an opportunity to have their voices heard at four public hearings Metro will be conducting in the coming weeks to solicit input on this once in a century economic development opportunity.

Supervisor Ridley-Thomas encourages the public to engage Metro in the coming week’s at the public hearings. Now is the time for public participation in the decision making process for this long overdue transit improvement.
