You are cordially invited to (green) tea.
Are there green topics that interest you? Would you like to learn more about how environmental issues really impact you and your community?
The Empowerment Congress, in conjunction with Supervisor Ridley-Thomas, is kicking off a series of “Green Tea” Seminars and is seeking your input. People who live or work in the Second District are invited to join us in developing monthly seminars at the Exposition Park Environmental Service Center. The first tea will be held at 4 p.m. on June 27 at the Environmental Service Center at Exposition Park.
The seminar will feature a panel entitled “Green Jobs: Myth or Miracle?”. Panelists include Alina Bokde from the Neighborhood Land Trust, Taurus Newborn from Alpine Green, and David Meyers from Build It Green. Panelists will debate the strength of the job market in areas ranging from parks to construction.
